3D2N Danum Valley Package (Borneo Rainforest Lodge)
To facilitate activities realated to research. Education, training and wilderness recreation, Yayasan Sabah established the Danum Valley Field Centre (DVFC) IN 1986. Located on the edge of Danum Valley Conservation Area, the Danum Valley Field Centre (DVFC) is open to both international and local scientists/ researchers, who must first apply in waiting to the sectary, Danum Valley Management Committee.
Danum Valley Field Centre has evolved into one of the foremost rainforest research establishments in South East Asia. The extensive facilities include permanent research plots and an extensive trail system, well-equipped analytical laboratories, computer and email facilities, a library, climatic station data, phenology monitoring data base, trained field staff, vehicles, housing and sports facilities, a Nature Interpretation and Environmental Education Building and a Nature Discovery Centre, several canopy observatation platforms and towers, and a suspension bridge over the Segam
1st Day
Time Desc
0720hrs Meet & Greet at Lahad Datu Airport and proceed to borneo Nature Tours office for registration & briefing
0930hrs Depart to Danum Valley Borneo Rainforest Lodge
1200hrs Arrive & check in at the lodge. Lunch.
1430hrs Slide presentation held in Conference Room.
1500hrs Afternoon Trek : Introduction to the forest through "Nature Trails" and tree top "Canopy Walk"
1900hrs Dinner at the lodge
2030hrs Night Drive in an open-top vehicle in search of nocturnal animals
Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge
2nd Day
Time Description
0700hrs Breakfast at the Lodge. Guided jungle activities.
0830hrs trek to the Kadazandusun burial trail - "Coffin Cliff" and proceed for your journey up to the "View Point" and descend through the "Jacuzzi Pools" for refreshing dip in the pool.
1200hrs Lunch at the lodge
1400hrs Afternoon jungle activity. Riverside trekking.
1900hrs Dinner and proceed for another night walk on the quest to search for nocturnal animals.
3rd day

0700hrs Breakfast
0800hrs Morning optional activity. Water Tubing at the Danum River
1200hrs Lunch
1330hrs Check out and depart for a 2 1/2 hours journey to Lahad Datu
1600hrs Drop off at Lahad Datu Airport for flight back to Kota Kinabalu
1820hrs Arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport
